LET'S FIND OUT WHAT SUSTAINABLE FASHION IS ALL ABOUT!

In the last year sustainable fashion purchases have increased by 75%, especially among the millennials, i.e. those born between the early eighties and mid-nineties. Green fashion often leads to fair trade, organic wear and reuse. In addition to being traceable, it also respects the environment and workers. It is therefore an ethical fashion that certifies the non-exploitation of employees and guarantees adequate working conditions.

The most widely used recycled fabrics are: econyl, obtained from fishing nets; repreve, derived from plastic bottles; ecological cashmere; hemp; bamboo and tencel, a label that certifies natural fabrics obtained from eucalyptus leaves.

Linked to the practice of reuse is the "circular" fashion, namely that activity for which clothing and accessories are exchanged in a cycle of reuse, leading them to have a second life. In this way, they last as long as possible. In this regard, it simply follows the rule of: collection, recovery, recycling, reduction, reuse, instead of opting for creation, use and disposal.

One of the data that is the most comforting one is the continuous use of "slow fashion" by young people, which in contrast to fast fashion, is a new approach to shopping that leads to buy only what is really necessary, with greater awareness. We try in this sense to optimize purchases: we tend to take into account also the "cost per use". It will be more ecological, as well as convenient, spending more for a garment, if this one, at the same price compared to another, will be used longer and more times.

Cruelty-free, biodegradable and carbon neutral issues deserve a lot of attention, even in the fashion world: without carbon, nor toxic substances, pesticides or fertilizers. But of particular importance is also the respect for animal rights: therefore we try to replace furs with synthetic materials and to limit the use of water used in the manufacture and packaging of clothing.
