With the end of July the sales are getting more and more interesting: to give in or not to the sales? This is sometimes the question.
In physical shops and also in online shops, such as ours, the prices are inviting, the savings are objective and the quality, the same as always: it therefore seems almost a wasted opportunity not to buy anything and, sometimes, it is. The risk, on the other hand, is to get carried away and buy more clothes than we need or could ever use. In fact, some items are not only seasonal but also linked to a fashion of the moment that may no longer be in vogue next summer or that we no longer like.
How to get your bearings? What can you do to avoid missing out on good bargains with the sales, avoid unnecessary purchases and continue to be a careful and responsible consumer?
1. To give in or not to sales? First take a good look in your wardrobe
Before you go on a shopping spree, take a good look at what you have in your wardrobe and what is breaking or very worn. Do the same for your children's clothes and keep them in perspective, i.e. ask yourself:
- What will they wear in the autumn? For example, you might need some extra half-sleeved t-shirts.
- What will they need next year? Some dresses will last for several years, as will shorts.
- What will be passed on to younger siblings or cousins?
2. Make a list
Make a list of items that you need to replace others, both for yourself and for your family members, and of new clothes that you would like to introduce into your wardrobe. Maybe you'll find an offer on those more expensive items that you had your eye on in the spring and that you know you'll get a lot of use out of.
3. Define a budget, it will help you evaluate if and what to give up
Especially for non-essentials, set a budget and stick to it. On-line and off-line purchases fall within the same budget.
4. Look at labels
Sometimes we decide whether or not to give in to sales driven by price alone, but remember to check labels and certifications because it's important what comes into contact with your skin and at Cora we care about you and your family.
Yes, give in and get something for yourself
We're mums at Cora too and we know that you always think of your kids first and us last. Reserve a small part of your budget for yourself and treat yourself, we all know you deserve it.
And now, with all 5 tips in mind, go to our shop and consciously give in to the sales!
