A GUIDE FOR ALL THOSE WHO ARE TIRED OF FAST FASHION

Fashion should be fun and at the same time sustainable and fair. And, of course, they look good. This is what Kirsten Brodde talks about in her new book "Einfach anziehend" (Simply attractive), which she wrote together with blogger Alf Tobias Zahn. The Hamburg native has been around for a long time in the field of sustainable fashion, and is currently leading Greenpeace's global detox campaign, which focuses on the environmental damage caused by the fashion industry. The book is informal, pleasantly written and informative, provides current figures, describes what lies behind the fashion industry, which glitters forward and is rather dirty at the bottom. Brodde and Zahn give many practical tips. But above all they make you want to be fashionable, only in a slightly different way. The idea is to structure your wardrobe in a sensible way, to consume in a different way - a mixture of second-hand, vintage and sustainable products -, to repair clothes and then develop so-called fast fashion step by step. Both signal new trends such as borrowing instead of buying, leasing or exchanging clothes. They provide information on the different seals and the sustainability of materials. There is a lot in the book for all those who want to live their inner and outer fashion, but with brains and responsibility.
