Christmas brings presents. How wonderful! They are wrapped in beautiful paper, with different patterns that evoke the holiday season.
But what happens to all that paper used to wrap presents when they are greedily torn from its contents?
Unfortunately, in many cases, it ends up in the dustbin. An idea to avoid this waste would be to use paper from old newspapers, instead of buying gift wrapping paper. This will give an original and vintage look to your presents!
However, if you just can't do without Christmas patterned and beautiful looking wrapping paper, you can opt for creative recycling. No dustbin then, but a new life! So remember to keep all your Christmas paper and not throw it away.
First of all, if it isn't creased, you can think about reusing it for other future presents by removing the taped or damaged part. Also, remember that bows and rosettes can be reused.
If you don't want to use paper to wrap other presents, you can indulge yourself with decoupage.
For example, you can create a Befana stocking by cutting out double-sided gift paper in the shape of a sock and gluing the edges together where you will put the gifts.
Alternatively, you can make decorations for the Christmas tree or your house. To do that, cut out different shapes from the wrapping paper, such as stars, hearts, or bows, and join them together with a woolen thread. You will then have created your decoration to hang on the tree or as an ornament in your house.
You can also make place cards for birthdays or New Year's Eve dinners. You have the option of gluing some drawings cut from wrapping paper onto cardboard and forming cones with the wrapping paper, which you can then embellish with bows or anything else you like.
